German DIY chain Hornbach is opening its tenth store in Romania tomorrow, 3 September 2025. It is located in the Colentina district of Bucharest. According to the company, the opening of the store is part of a long-term strategy in the country to cover important districts of the capital Bucharest.

“With this new opening, we are expanding our presence in the capital by covering the eastern part of the city for the first time,” explained Radu Oniga, Managing Director of Hornbach Romania. Hornbach already has stores in the south (Berceni), west (Militari) and north (Balotești) of the city.

At the same time, Hornbach is preparing to open a second store in Timișoara in autumn 2025. The medium-term plans aim to achieve as even coverage as possible of Romania's most important regions.

The sales area in Colentina covers around 18,000 m², of which more than 4,700 m² is dedicated to the garden centre…
