Malaysian home improvement retailer Mr. DIY has opened its first branch in South Africa, cementing its entry into the African continent. The new branch, located at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria, is set to open to the public on 28 June, information from the company posted on its official Linkedin page reveals. “We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our very first Mr. DIY store in South Africa … Come celebrate with us,” a post from the company announcing the official opening of its maiden outlet in South Africa stated.

The official opening comes after Mr. DIY’s soft opening, which gave VIPs a sneak peek of the maiden branch in its third continent and 14th market, last 20 June.  In an earlier announcement, the company had stated that it “rolled out the yellow carpet at Menlyn Mall for an exclusive Mr. DIY VIP Preview for special guests”.
