The German DIY chain Obi is getting a new head of marketing. The company has announced that its current Chief Marketing Officer, Dr Christian von Hegel, is leaving the company at his own request. From 1 June 2025, Tobias Seitz will take on an expanded role as Chief Brand & Customer Experience Officer, responsible for the Obi brand's customer experience and global marketing. In this new role, he will be a member of the Extended Board of Obi Group Holding SE & Co. KGaA and report directly to CEO Dr Sebastian Gundel.
Seitz is joining Obi from car rental company Sixt, where he spent two years as CMO. He previously held the same position for more than eight years at online retailer Westwing, which sells a range of home products in 15 European countries.
