Following the Migros Group's announcement in February 2024 that it would be focusing on its core supermarket business, Bauhaus Switzerland is now taking over two stores of the Migros Do it + Garden DIY retail chain, located in Losone and Pfungen.
The DIY store operator sees this as a significant step in its growth and expansion strategy. Bauhaus Switzerland opened its first specialist centre in Niederwangen (Bern) in 2006. Since then, further locations have followed in Schlieren (Zurich), Mels (St. Gallen), Matran (Fribourg) and, most recently, in Oftringen (Aargau) in 2020.
After entering western Switzerland (Matran) in 2015, Bauhaus Switzerland is now expanding into the Italian-speaking part of the country. With the takeover of the Migros store in Losone on 1 July 2025, Bauhaus Switzerland will open its first specialist centre in the canton of Ticino. By taking over the site in Pfungen…
