Gardena boss Pär Åström to leave the company in June

23.01.2024

Pär Åström, president of the Gardena division of the Swedish Husqvarna Group, is leaving the company. His last day of work there will be 30 June 2024, the Group has announced. He has decided to pursue a career opportunity outside the company and will return to Sweden with his family.

Pär Åström was initially responsible for strategy development in the Husqvarna Group from 2013, before rising to the top of Gardena in 2018 and becoming a member of the executive board. Since then, turnover has increased to more than 1 billion euros, primarily thanks to growth through internationalisation, innovation and the expansion of sales channels. Åström's term of office also saw the acquisition of the American company Orbit in 2021, making the Gardena division the global market leader for irrigation of private gardens and smart irrigation. Last year, a reorganisation into five business units and a go-to-market unit was implemented.
