Leroy Merlin opens Gigamarket in Warsaw

Leroy Merlin has opened a new Gigamarket with a retail area totalling 15,000 sqm on the site of a former Tesco shop in the Warsaw area. After an announcement by the company that it would open in the third quarter of 2022, the store commenced operation on 8 December 2022, according to reliable local media reports. It is the second Gigamarket and, according to Leroy Merlin, the eleventh store in the Warsaw metropolitan area. It is reported on retailnet.pl that the store has a 2,000 sqm outdoor garden centre and an internal warehouse of 5,500 sqm, which is said to be one of the largest in the chain. According to the company, 160 employees work at the store, which stocks around 40,000 items.
