Clas Ohlson’s sales in December increased by 2 per cent to SEK 1 234 mio (approx. EUR 110.2 mio). In December 2021 the turnover was SEK 1 204 mio. Compared to the same month last year the store network decreased by 5 stores, as the company states. At the end of the period, the total number of stores was 225.

Calculated in Swedish krona, sales in December increased by 1 per cent to SEK 530 mio (approx. EUR 47.4 mio.) in Sweden, by 5 per cent to SEK 560 mio (approx. EUR 50 mio.) in Norway and by 4 per cent to SEK 143 mio (approx. EUR 12.87 mio) in Finland. Based on the May-December period, total Group 2022 sales grew by 3 per cent to SEK 6 613 mio (approximately EUR 590.6 mio), with online sales increasing by 12 per cent to SEK 761 mio (approx. EUR 68 mio).

“The outcome online for December should be seen in the light of the strong development in November, where more efficient e-commerce logistics enabled for more or less all Black Friday sales to be delivered to customer, and reported, in November,” says Kristofer Tonström, CEO and President of Clas Ohlson. “We continue to be affected by consumers' more need-based consumption patterns in combination with them waiting for campaigns and sales, as well as by high purchasing prices, transportation costs and a weak Swedish krona.”
