Home Depot 6.5 per cent up in 2Q 2022

Home Depot reported sales of USD 43.8 bn for the second quarter of fiscal year 2022, an increase of USD 2.7 bn, or 6.5 per cent from the second quarter of fiscal 2021. Comparable sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2022 increased 5.8 per cent, and comparable sales in the US increased 5.4 per cent.

"In the second quarter, we delivered the highest quarterly sales and earnings in our company’s history,” said Ted Decker, CEO and president. “Our performance reflects continued strength in demand for home improvement projects.”

Net earnings for the second quarter of fiscal 2022 were USD 5.2 bn, compared with net earnings of USD 4.8 bn in the same period of fiscal 2021.

At the end of the second quarter, the company operated a total of 2,316 retail stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico. The company employs approximately 500,000 associates.
