After a two-year-break due to the pandemic, the garden-fair now takes place in Cologne again.

With great expectations and much anticipation among exhibitors and visitors, the first Spoga+Gafa opened its doors yesterday, Sunday 19 June 2022, after a two-year coronavirus break. It is also the first edition of the fair on the new date in June. The number of visitors on the first day of the fair was slightly below the comparable level from the years before the new start. Exhibitors nevertheless reported high interest from the retailers and qualified discussions. In addition, numerous distributors from countries outside Europe visit the international leading fair of the garden industry. "The personal exchange is and remains important, and for that purpose this fair is exactly the right format" – this is the opinion of many exhibitors and visitors. On the second day of the fair today, Monday, the halls have been well filled from the beginning.

Associations and companies are using the trade fair for industry-relevant meetings and events. For example, members of the Association of German Garden Centres (VDG) have met, and Gardena has held the Gardena garden award ceremony on the event stage of the Garden Industry Association (IVG). A large stand party is being held by the IVG today to round off the second day of the fair.
