Spanish manufacturers in the DIY and hardware sector have closed the first quarter of 2022 with a 5.18 per cent increase in sales. This is according to their association AFEB. Sales to the DIY channel increased by 2.06 per cent, and they sold 4.53 per cent more to the traditional specialist trade. Between these are sales to generalists (up 2.00 per cent) and to the professional sector (4.04 per cent). There was a large upward swing of 13.25 per cent in exports. The minus of 5.48 per cent in sales via the online channel can be explained by the high figures a year ago, when the physical trade was closed or consumers were cautious.
