Sodimac’s sales down in its domestic market in Chile

Sodimac, the home improvement division of retail group Falabella, recorded sales of CLP 1 028 833 mio in the first six months of the year in its domestic market in Chile. This was 1.7 per cent lower than in the same period last year. In Colombia, the second-biggest market for this Falabella segment, sales rose nominally by 1.7 per cent to CLP 371 051 mio; however, currency-adjusted sales were down by 0.6 per cent. Sales in Peru came to CLP 298 049 mio, a downturn of 1.3 per cent (after adjustment for currency effects -0.1 per cent). In Brazil, the division grew by 13.7 per cent and by 2.2 per cent following currency adjustment to CLP 87 397 mio. Sodimac's Argentinian stores recorded a sales growth of 1.0 per cent (adjusted 16.5 per cent ) to CLP 83 815 mio.
