Sales up nearly eleven per cent at Lowe’s

Lowe's ended the first quarter (ended 5 May 2017) of its financial year with sales up by 10.7 per cent. The second-biggest home improvement store operator in the USA and worldwide recorded sales of USD 16.860 bn in this period. Comparable sales increased 1.9 per cent, while comparable sales for the U.S. business increased 2.0 per cent.
Against the background of its latest acquisition in the professional segment, Robert A. Niblock, Lowe's chairman, president and CEO, made the following comment: "We also continued to advance our sales to Pro customers, delivering another quarter of comparable sales growth well above the company average."
