The ten largest DIY store companies in the world experienced double-digit growth in their aggregated sales last year, together reaching a sales volume of € 230.118 bn (exchange rates at 31 December 2016). This equates to an increase of 10.8 per cent. The figures were published by Dähne Verlag, which monitors market activity in the international DIY and garden retail trade. Among other things, the figures are incorporated into the annual statistics publication, the next edition of which, "Statistics 2017. Home Improvement Retail Europe", appears in July.The top ten in international DIY retailing is composed of four US companies, two German companies and one each from France, Great Britain, Australia and Chile. A change in the rankings occurred in 2016, with Bunnings rising from seventh to sixth and swapping places with Menards.
