Régis Degelcke switching sectors and leaving Edra

Régis Degelcke, executive vice president of the French Groupe Adeo concern and president of the European DIY Retail Association, is leaving the DIY sector. He is to become chairman of Auchan Holding and Auchan Retail on 8 March 2017. The Mulliez family have a majority shareholding in both the Auchan and Adeo retail groups. DIY operations are brought together under the Groupe Adeo umbrella with Leroy Merlin as its main distribution channel. Auchan is active primarily in the supermarket business. Other companies that belong to the Mulliez Group are the sports retailer Décathlon, the Pimkie fashion chain and various other store chains in a range of businesses.
In line with its statutes, the responsibilities of the Edra chair will be assumed by the deputy chair Sergio Giroldi, head of Obi, until the next board meeting in Berlin on 7 July 2017.
