Swedish trader Clas Ohlson is struggling with currency effects, especially the revaluation of the Norwegian Krone compared to the Swedish Krone. Sales in the second quarter (August to October) of financial year 2016/2017 increased nominally by six per cent to SEK 1.957 bn, however in local currencies only by five per cent.
In the whole first half year, sales compared to the same period last year increased by three per cent to SEK 3.720 bn; in local currencies this was four per cent more.
Profit suffered most of all. For example operating profit in the first half year sank from SEK 250 mio to SEK 202 mio.
