The British Kingfisher corporation made sales of GBP 2.955 bn in the third quarter of financial year 2016/2017 (ending 31 October). This is reported to be 11.5 per cent more. However in constant currency the increase, compared to the same period last year, is only 1.3 per cent. The like-for-like change in constant currency amounts to 1.8 per cent.
The sales lines B&Q in Great Britain and Ireland made 3.3 per cent less sales with GBP 900 million. This was caused by the further seven store closures; of the 65 planned closures, 59 have now been completed. Like-for-like sales have increased by 3.5 per cent. The sales line Screwfix increased its sales by 23.1 per cent, like-for-like by 12.7 per cent.
There was a drop of 2.6 per cent in constant currency in France. Like-for-like sales were even 3.6 per cent below the corresponding previous year's level. In Poland, the British corporation grew by 9.5 per cent after adjusting for exchange rate effects, like-for-like by 6.7 per cent. In Russia it was 0.2 per cent less after adjusting for exchange rate effects, like-for-like was 1.0 per cent more than the same period in the previous year.
