Lowe's, the US chain of DIY stores, increased its sales in the third quarter (ending 28 October) compared to the same period of the previous year by 9.6 per cent to USD 15 739 bn. Comparable sales increased 2.7 per cent. For the nine month period, sales were USD 49.233 bn, a 7.4 per cent increase over the same period a year ago, and comparable sales increased 3.9 per cent. Comparable sales for the US home improvement business increased 2.6 per cent for the third quarter and 3.9 per cent for the nine month period.
