According to the study there is also a lot of room for improvement in terms of product placement. Only a few German operators were as careful as Amazon or Otto when defining their product placement in online shops."Strategic online category management is one of the most important factors of success for the future," according to A.T. Kearney's expert Warschun. "If you want to be internationally competitive, you have to show your ability in the niche market. Clear product information, detailed comparisons, interesting content or comfortable payment options provide added value which customers reward."
