The British chain of DIY stores, Kingfisher, made sales of 3.026 bn. British pounds in the second quarter of the financial year 2016. This is an increase of three per cent compared to the same period of the previous year on a like-for-like basis. Growth was mainly driven by a positive development in the UK (7.2 per cent increase) and in Poland (7.3 per cent increase). Véronique Laury, Kingfisher Chief Executive Officer, says: "We have delivered another solid sales performance in Q2 driven by the UK and Poland. In the UK, the EU referendum result has created uncertainty for the economic outlook, although there has been no clear evidence of an impact on demand so far on our businesses. In France, widespread industrial action and exceptionally wet weather created a more challenging environment, after a more encouraging Q1. We remain cautious on the short-term outlook."
