Sale of HTH

Woolworths exits the home improvement business

01.07.2016

The Australian Woolworths group intends to sell its subsidiary Home Timber & Hardware (HTH), thus completely withdrawing from the home improvement business. The exit process will take several months, explains the company.
HTH operates under a 'hybrid' business model, incorporating 44 company-owned HTH sites and distribution centres, as well as servicing the wholesale needs of over 350 independently owned and operated HTH and Thrifty-Link branded stores who licence the company's brand and utilise the distribution network.
In winter Woolworths had already announced that they were selling the Masters chain, which the Australians had previously operated as joint venture with Lowe's, the number two in the USA.
