Austria, Ireland and Spain with increases

For the first quarter 2016, Austria achieved a 12.9 per cent increase in sales of home improvement products, compared to the same months last year, according to the current survey from Edra (European DIY Retail Association). This information was presented at the 4th Global DIY Summit, currently taking place in Stockholm. In Ireland, it was eleven per cent increase, in Spain and Sweden eight and in Turkey 6.5 per cent.
At the bottom end of the scale was Russia with minus 3.5 per cent, Germany with minus 1.5 per cent and Finland with minus 1.4 per cent. A glance at the previous year's figures show a constant positive development, particularly in Sweden, where a nine per cent increase in the first quarter of 2015 was recorded compared to the same period in the previous year. Spain also achieved an increase for the second year in succession. The 4th Global Summit in Stockholm, which is attended by about 800 participants from 52 countries from all around the globe, closes today.
