Home Depot increased its sales in the last financial year (ended 31 January 2016) by 6.4 per cent. The DIY market leader in the USA and worldwide recorded sales of USD 88.519 bn. Total company comparable store sales increased 5.6 per cent; comparable store sales for the stores in the USA were a positive 7.1 per cent.
In the last quarter of the financial year, Home Depot enjoyed nearly double-digit growth, with sales up by 9.5 per cent to USD 20.980 bn.
The DIY chain operator intends to open five new stores in Mexico in the current financial year. As of the end of January, it had 2 274 stores in total across the USA, Canada and Mexico.
