Professional business to be strengthened through the building materials trader

Home Depot takes over the building material trader Interline Brands. Interline markets a full product range for the construction and renovation sector (MRO – maintenance, repair and operations) to professional customers. The company has more than 90 wholesale locations in the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. The transaction with a volume of USD 1.625 bn should be completed before November.
For the DIY world market leader Home Depot, the acquisition is part of its strategy to become stronger in its professional DIY business. For this, a new position on the board was created: Bill Lennie, previously President of Home Depot Canada, is now Executive Vice President, Outside Sales and Services. In this position, he leads the professional, MRO and assembly services and is responsible for the integration of Interline.
