The international DIY market sector has cautious expectations for online trade. That became clear at the 3rd Global DIY Summit in London where the participants were asked questions about various topics using a voting tool. 20 per cent expect that the online share of business in the DIY sector will be less than 10 per cent of turnover in five years from now. Almost 27 per cent expect an online market share of between 10 and 15 per cent. At the same time, it is recognised that sales space needs to be reduced. More than half of the approximate 750 congress participants think that 60 to 80 per cent of the current sales space will still be used in ten years’ time.
