The Swedish DIY and home interiors retailer Clas Ohlson reported an eight per cent increase in sales for the fiscal year just ended to SEK 7.33 bn (previous year: SEK 6.808). Profit after tax increased by 13 per cent to SEK 459 mio. Klas Balkow, CEO of Clas Ohlson, described the result as a “new record” and announced further foreign expansion. In addition to the three new stores in Hamburg opening from summer 2016 onwards, the retailer is planning to open 10 to 15 new outlets in the next fiscal year. Clas Ohlson currently operates 198 stores.
