The National Hardware Show is putting together memories

The US-American National Hardware Show celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. For this special occasion, the organisers are putting together memories, photos and stories from past exhibitors and visitors. All these souvenir contributions will be compiled and published on social media websites and also on the National Hardware Show’s website before the start of the trade fair.
“As we celebrate 70 years of the National Hardware Show, we continue to look ahead to the future of the home improvement industry”, says Richard Russo, vice president of the National Hardware Show. “However, we’d also like to take some time to look back and reflect on the memories of years past and see how far we’ve come and how much things have changed”.
The first National Hardware Show was held in 1945 in New York City, just as the post-war housing boom began. It was created by Abe Rosenburg, founder of General Hardware Manufacturing, (today General Tools & Instruments) and Charlie Snitow, the legal advisor for the company. Reed Exhibitions acquired Snitow’s trade fair business in the early 1960s and in 1975 the show moved to Chicago and then in 2004 to Las Vegas.
This year the National Hardware Show will be held from 5 to 7 May 2015 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. For the first time ever there will be an Outdoor Supply Auction event on all three show days with products on offer from the retail industry which will include the hottest new products as well as overstock, seasonal change or promotional products. Product details can be found on the NHS mobile app. There are no sign-up fees.
