Homebase appoints a female managing director

The British DIY chain Homebase will have a woman at the helm in future. Echo Lu takes up the post of managing director on 20 April 2015. She is moving over from the UK grocery retailer Tesco, for whom she has worked for the last ten years. Her most recent appointments within Tesco, where she was a member of the UK management team, were as group business planning & insight director and property director for Tesco UK & Ireland. Before that she held the posts of chief operating officer in China, operations director in East China and as a grocery buyer for Tesco.
