The greatest growth impulse came, once again, from Germany, the company explained. The 97 DIY and garden centre stores in Germany turned over € 1.966 bn, resulting in an increase of 7.6 per cent more than in the same period in the previous fiscal year. Included here are the turnover figures from the seven new stores and a store expansion. The growth rate from the existing sales areas was 5.5 per cent.
In the eight other European countries where Hornbach operates, the company also managed a turnaround with regard to like-for-like and currency adjusted sales. After decreases in three consecutive years, the 49 stores outside Germany achieved an adjusted sales growth of 2.8 per cent. In total, their turnover increased by 5.0 per cent to € 1,390 bn.
