This year Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai records a 45 per cent increase in exhibitors. More than 600 companies from 24 countries will present their products and services in the plant, technology, floristry and furnishings sectors from 22 to 24 April 2015. They will cover an area of 25 000 m², the largest ever, in the Shanghai New international Expo Centre. The trade fair is organised by Messe Essen (Germany) in cooperation with the China Flower Association.
China is currently investing more than ever in horticulture. “Beautiful China”, a project initiated by the Chinese government to improve the quality of the air and environment or the “National Urbanization Plan”, that intends to have 60 per cent of the population living in cities by 2060, opens up lots of opportunities for the industry, according to the organiser’s estimation of the situation.
Ecuador is participating for the first time in 2015 with a joint stand and is bringing more than 24 000 cut flowers. France, the Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan and Korea will also be represented with country stands.
