Big box distribution channel Brico Cash to double its store network in 2015

The French DIY retailer Bricomarché reached sales of € 2.2 bn in 2014. The figure includes sales by its big box distribution channel Brico Cash. Sales increased by one per cent at the 638 Bricomarché outlets and by 7.9 per cent at the 13 Brico Cash stores. Another twelve of these are to be created this year, virtually doubling the network.
According to a press release, Bricomarché was especially successful in Poland, where it operates 105 stores. The company has 499 stores in France and 34 in Portugal.
Bricomarché is part of the Les Mousquetaires/ITM Entreprises franchise group. Its main distribution channel is the supermarket/hypermarket format Intermarché. The company also owns the Netto discount stores, automotive parts dealer Roady and the restaurant chain Poivre Rouge. The Mousquetaires Group passed the € 40 bn milestone for the first time in 2014 with sales of € 40.1 bn.
