Garden Centre market in Europe

The garden centre market in the European Union had a volume of around € 85.8 bn in 2013 which means it has increased by 6.2 per cent since 2005. Approximately 20 per cent of the total volume i.e. € 17.3 bn in 2013, fell to Germany. Although here the market only grew by 0.3 per cent in the same time frame. These figures were published by the deutsche Industrieverband Garten (IVG) in its recent annual report.
Throughout the EU, 63 per cent of the garden sales were made with live plants and bio-chemical products and 38 per cent with garden hardware.
