Rona grows again on same area

Turnover falls 2.3 per cent in total, but increases on a like-for-like basis by 1.1 per cent

The Canadian Home Improvement Group Rona turned over about CAD 4.0964 bn in 2014, which is 2.3 per cent less than in the previous year. According to the company, this decrease is reflected in the closing of unprofitable stores. This is the first increase of 1.2 per cent on a like-for-like basis since 2006; likewise, the retail business also recorded a 1.1 per cent growth and the wholesale business 1.7 per cent. Another factor which had an effect was the repositioning of the distribution outlets Réno-Dépôt in Québec and Totem in Alberta.
The last three months have seen a more positive development compared to the previous quarters. Here there was a sales growth of 3.2 per cent to CAD 971.3 mio and an increase of 6.0 per cent on a like-for-like basis.
