The Australian DIY chain Bunnings closed the first half of the business year 2014/2015 (July to December) with a turnover plus of 11.8 per cent to AUD 4.949 bn. Twelve new stores, were opened in these months, of which eight were warehouse formats, a smaller Bunnings store, as well as three builders’ merchant outlets. At the end of the year, the branch network in Australia and New Zealand comprised 228 Bunnings warehouse, 63 smaller stores and 33 builders’ merchant outlets. The company plans to open a total of 20 new warehouse stores in the current business year and the expansion is planned to continue in a similar fashion in the years to come.
