Dutch garden centre franchise group expands into other countries
The Dutch garden centre group Intratuin is expanding into Germany. Two German Intratuin stores have opened in the Münster region since January. The German franchisee Moubis was previously a member of the Sagaflor speciality cooperative.
With a market share of 33 per cent, Intratuin claims to be the market leader in garden centres in the Netherlands. The franchise group is also active in Belgium. It has 51 stores in the Netherlands and five in Belgium, with an overall retail area of over 500 000 m². Intratuin’s declared intention is to grow beyond these first two new stores in Germany and gain new members. Plans are also in hand to expand into France and Spain.
