The Japanese DIY chain Cainz has joined the Global Home Improvement Network (GHIN) affiliated to the European DIY Trade Association Edra. The company, founded in 1989, is number two in the Japanese DIY market. It currently has 192 stores and recently achieved a yearly turnover of USD 4 bn. Cainz is well-known for its high quality own brands, that make up more than 30 per cent of its product range, according to a statement given by Edra. Edra/GHIN now has 37 members – trading companies, as well as associations - and represents 125 companies worldwide, operating in 97 countries.
