Several interested parties for a takeover of Baumax

The Austrian newspaper “News“ has reported in detail about the sale of Baumax, in its current edition. According to the report, all offers from potential interested parties must be handed in by 18 December. As the restructuring by the DIY operator has already started to show positive results, there would be enough serious bidders.
In the report, which has been taken up by numerous other Austrian media, there is talk of 60 creditor banks. The newspaper refers to confidential sales documents from the investment bank Mediobanca and their German subsidiary. According to which, it’s likely that after a takeover, the brand Baumax would continue in the core countries or at least in Austria.
Werner Carl has been a member of the Baumax supervisory board since October. Carl was CEO of the German DIY store chain Max Bahr, as well as Baywa DIY and garden centre stores, and the manufacturer KWB, to name but a few.
