Lowe’s announced that it would be testing robots in customer service. Two of these electronic assistants will be in operation in the customer service area in one of the subsidiary sales division’s stores, Orchard Supply Hardware in San Jose (California). They will help customers to navigate their way around the store, guide them to the required products and also give information about promotions and availability. In the future, they should be able to communicate with the customers in various languages and transfer the customer to experts in store as well as in other branches. The so-called Oshbots can also identify products brought into the store by the customers with a built-in scanner and provide the customer with further information about these products.
