Sales by the French DIY chain Bricorama in the first half of 2014 fell by around 1.5 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year to a volume of € 338.7 mio. In France, one store closure and an unfavourable economic situation in the second quarter in particular were responsible for the drop in sales, according to the company. In Belgium, where a store was also closed, sales declined by 2.3 per cent. The Gamma stores in the Netherlands performed well, while Karwei outlets also saw a downturn in sales. Bricorama attributes the drop in sales in Spain exclusively to one store closure.
