Further downsizing at Homebase

After six closings in the second quarter sales dropped by 2.8 per cent

The British DIY chain Homebase sees further downsizing resulting in a reduced turnover. Following the closure of six locations in the second quarter (end: 30 August 2014) of the current fiscal year the revenue was GBP 390 mio, 2.8 per cent less than the same period last year. Like-for-like an increase of 0.1 per cent was reported. The chain finished the entire first half with a turnover of GBP 835 mio, with a growth of 1.5 per cent (like-for-like 4.1 per cent). They now operate 316 stores.
