Bunnings achieve a double-digit increase

The Australian market leader’s revenue up almost 12 per cent in 2013/2014

The Australian DIY market leader Bunnings announced a double-digit sales increase for its financial year 2013/2014 which ended on 30 June. The volume of sales was AUD
8.536 bn and therefore 11.6 per cent higher than the previous year’s. On a like-for-like basis the 320 Bunnings stores’ revenue was up by 8.4 per cent at the cut-off date. In Australia and New Zealand the branch network comprises 223 stores in warehouse format, 64 smaller stores as well as 33 building materials merchants.In the past financial year Bunnings opened 20 warehouse stores and four smaller stores, as well as a building materials outlet. The company wants to keep up the rate of new store openings and announced 20 further Bunnings warehouses for the current financial year.
