The Chinese consumers are increasingly using the Internet to do their shopping. 76 per cent of the consumers use the Internet to do their shopping at least once a week. In comparison: Worldwide it’s only 26 per cent, according to the global multi-channel study “Total Retail” carried out by the auditing and consulting company PwC. In 2012 the Chinese purchased goods online to the value of USD 190 bn. Although they are still behind the USA with a revenue of USD 225 bn, that could all soon change as China prepares to take over the lead. For 2015 experts forecast online shopping revenues for China to the value of USD 541 bn.
