Kesko-half year figures

Kesko has slightly adjusted and downgraded its pre-released building material trade and DIY figures for the first half of 2014. The recently published half yearly report suggests that the sales have increased by 1.2 per cent to € 1 317 bn. In some countries very sudden changes were recorded. For example, sales in Russia have declined currency-adjusted by 8.1 per cent to € 118 mio; calculated in ruble however, they showed an increase of 8.2 per cent. Here the number of stores has decreased from 15 to 13.
The exchange rate fluctuations have also had an impact on Scandinavia; the 20 (2013:21) K-rauta-stores in Sweden turned over € 100 mio and therefore 3.0 per cent less, but in Swedish krona it is 1.8 per cent more. The 86 (2013: 90) Byggmakker stores in Norway made € 220 mio currency-adjusted and therefore had 7.5 per cent less than in the previous year, measured in Norwegian Krona the figures are also 1.8 per cent higher.
