Byggmax grows compared with January-June 2013

The Swedish company’s like-for-like sales for the first six months are down, however
Byggmax’s sales from January to June 2014 increased by 15.3 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year to SEK 1.6237 bn. Of this figure, SEK 1.1367 bn was attributable to the second quarter, in which the Swedish DIY store operator’s sales rose by 16.5 per cent. Like-for-like sales were down in both periods under review, however – by 4.6 per cent for the half-year and by 2.5 per cent in the second quarter. The company is working hard to convert its store portfolio to the new concept Byggmax 2.0. 16 conversions were carried out between January and June, with a further 15 planned for the autumn and around 20 to 30 in spring 2015. Five new stores opened in the first half of the year, with a further two scheduled for the third quarter.
