The German cooperative grew more strongly in the retail sphere

In the first six months of the year, the German building materials cooperative Eurobaustoff increased its centrally invoiced purchasing volume by 10.4 per cent compared with the same period in the previous year. This increase is attributable to the first quarter, in which the weather-related losses of the previous year were made up. The second quarter was comparable with that of the previous year.
The retail and timber arms grew most in the first half of the year, by 16.6 per cent and 25 per cent respectively. However, wholesale ordering, which increased by 8.9 per cent, continues to account for three quarters of the purchasing volume, equivalent to nearly € 2 bn. The tiles/natural stone business grew by 11.1 per cent over the value for the previous year.
