Obi exits Romania

The German DIY store chain Obi is to withdraw from Romania and close its seven stores in the country. The official reason given for this step is that the country no longer fits into the company’s expansion strategy. Obi entered the Romanian market in 2008. The company says that no time scale can be given at the moment for the withdrawal.
