Metrika aims to manufacture more

The Russian DIY store operator Metrika aims to drive its future development forward along the lines of the Swedish furniture chain Ikea. The company intends to manufacture a large proportion of its range itself, said general director Alexei Iovlev at an industry event. At present this proportion is around ten per cent. Seven production companies have belonged to the group since 2010.
Metrika is one of the fastest growing DIY retailers in Russia. Last year it added 20 stores, bringing the number of outlets to 103.
