Only two DIY retailers make it into the Top 50 retail brands in Europe

Among the 50 most valuable brands in the European retail sector are just two DIY chains, at least in the assessment of brand value carried out by Interbrand, a consultancy. This places Leroy Merlin 11th with a brand value of USD 2.039 bn, a figure that is two per up on the previous year’s result. B&Q is positioned 40th with a brand value of USD 417 mio, which is an increase of three per cent. By way of comparison, Home Depot is ranked third on the list of American retail brands with a brand value that shows an increase of twelve per cent for a total of USD 25.696 bn. Lowe’s (USD 9.634 bn, nine per cent increase) occupies the eleventh position. Other companies from the sector that are included among the Top 50 are Sherwin-Williams (placed 27th), Canadian Tire (38th) and Tractor Supply (41st).
