Amount fluctuates between € 58 800 and € 1 300 per capita
In the year 2013 as a whole some € 8.62 bn was available to European consumers for their total outgoings and savings. This amounts to purchasing power averaging out at € 12 890 per inhabitant of the 42 countries which are looked at in the ‘Purchasing Power Europe 2013/2014’ study from market research company GfK. Certainly there are considerable differences here. Liechtenstein takes top position with per-capita purchasing power of € 58 844. Next come the Swiss with just € 36 352. Spanish consumers hit the European average fairly precisely with a sum of € 12 370. Moldavia brings up the rear with € 1 284 per head of population.
