Woodie’s DIY, the Irish DIY chain, which is part of the Grafton building materials group, increased sales in the 2013 financial year by 3.8 per cent to GBP 167 mio. Since the group’s listing on the London stock market in 2013, its results are published in sterling. Sales fell by 0.9 per cent at constant exchange rates, while increasing by 1.5 per cent like-for-like. The total of more than eight million transactions in the 38 stores remained stable, calculated on a like-for-like basis. The average sales slip was 2.4 per cent up; according to Grafton, this was the result of a rise in sales of higher-value garden products and the successful testing of a range of kitchens in three stores.
