Strongest in Belarus

Here Kesko saw an increase of 23 per cent, against a loss of 4.2 per cent in Russia

 In 2013 the Finnish Kesko Group achieved the strongest growth in its building materials and DIY retail division in Belarus, where it has a stake in the country’s Oma chain. Sales here rose by 22.7 per cent to € 106 mio. There were also increases in Estonia (plus 8.1 per cent, € 60 mio) and Latvia (plus 1.1 per cent, € 52 mio). In all other countries, including the home market, sales were down. This includes Russia, for example, where the 13 outlets remaining after one store closure recorded sales of € 272 mio (-4.2 per cent). Altogether the group made sales of € 2.607 bn, or 7.8 per cent down on the previous year.
